LAUNCH is a conference that brings together entrepreneurs, inventors, and innovative thinkers who want to find out how to develop and protect their ideas and who seek to
develop 21st Century skills for people of all ages, in particular, science, technology, engineering, math (STEM) skills,


Launch is a program of the Museum at the Mill, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization.

DEVELOPING & PROTECTING IDEAS - Intellectual Property (IP)

Meet:     Entrepreneurs and inventors who have launched businesses and/or initiatives and professionals specializing in protecting                     intellectual property and product development.


Learn:    Ways to protect your ideas as you move through the various stages of development. Factors that move an idea to        
                profitable production. How you build a team to meet the needs of a business as it moves through different stages of        
                development. At what point in the process do you protect your ideas and who do you need to work with to protect    
                your ideas. When you can "Do It Yourself" and when you should engage a professional.

African-American Inventors - Exhibit includes essays on African-American inventors by area students.  American Association of University Women (AAUW) - Informational material will illustrate the role of AAUW in supporting inventors such as Marie Curie. Arts – building blocks for STEM Literacy - illustrates how the Attleboro Public Schools lays the foundation for STEM Literacy through the Arts. Attleboro Area Industrial Museum – display includes working patent models of Attleboro area inventors. Bristol Community College - Presents programs that support STEM Literacy and entrepreneurship. Bridgewater State College - Features inventions created by students participating in the Invention Convention. CityBuild - Showcases an outreach program that teaches Boston high school students about the design and construction fields. Creativity in Action – Illustrates how creativity is expressed by artists, engineers, designers, inventors, and educators. FIRST  (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) – information on national program to motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in STEM. Hamilton, Brook, Smith & Reynolds, P.C. – information on intellectual property law. Inventions–Architects–Sustainable Initiatives – Presents new materials and strategies for green buildings. Mass Office of Business Development – information to help companies create and retain jobs. Ms. Wheelchair Massachusetts Foundation - Showcases inventions and innovations that support independence and make education accessible including assistive technology and universal design. Museum at the Mill - Illustrates how inventions have shaped American history. Featuring Abraham Lincoln – inventor.  Native American Inventors – Features historic and contemporary inventions and innovations of Native Americans. Raytheon Company - presents information on the many ways Raytheon supports STEM. Strategic Partnerships in Rhode Island – advancing 21st Century Skills - Exhibit illustrates the strategic partnership of AMGEN, the University of Rhode Island, and the RI Public Schools in advancing science education. 2010 Census – Information on the importance of the Census.

Registration Fee: $15.00: The non-refundable fee covers materials that will be available for attendees. The fee should not prohibit anyone from attending. If you or someone you know would like to attend and finds the fee an obstacle, please contact Katherine Honey or at 508-215-7958.
